Hoyas Slashed by Curry

curry slicingMy beloved Hoyas were cut down by this little superstar, Stephen Curry. He has really been hot in this NCAA tournament. After a day of stewing over our wasted opportunity, I’m ready to accept that we just plain got beat.

I mean, how do you blow a 17-point second-half lead? Roy Hibbert, how do you decide to forgo the NBA draft after last season to come back and settle for getting denied the ball so many times in the low post?

I was so disappointed. But now I’ve moved on. I’m excited about next season, with the establishment of Chris Wright, our freshman guard who has such presence already. As for now, I’m rooting for Curry to take Davidson all the way. Might as well root for the cinderella.

And now I’d like to quote some key analysis from my main man on Capitol Hill, Mac McGoo, who was dropping knowledge:

Agreed on Wright being a stud. He plays with a lot of energy and passion. Not to take anything away from Sapp, Wallace and Freeman, but it’s nice to finally have a guard who can slash to the hoop. I think it will open up a lot of opportunities for other players on the court and keep defenses more honest.

I think Hibbert, unfortunately in the end, didn’t do himself any favors, draft position-wise, in coming back. That said, I think he improved parts of his game, especially passing. In the end, my guess is that scouts will see a 7′ 2″ dude with good hands and feet who may be too soft and kind-hearted to excel in the NBA. none of that means that a team won’t take a chance on him in the late first round or second round, and hope that he turns out ok. You can’t teach a player size.

Word.

How do you prevent your colleague’s cursing habit?

I need help! I can’t work with a 19 year old girl who curses all the time, even in front our customers.  But she is enthusiastic.

Is cursing a real cool thing for immature people? People in 20s, 30s, often curse too. Why many young women need to curse more than men in public? Do young women need to get attention by cursing?

Back to the story, any suggestion?

Some good press for our boys at DressMonkey.com

Style expert Jeff Horowitz is interviewed by Entrepreneur magazine in their latest issue.

Jeff Horowitz, co-founder of DressMonkey, cites the following three trends to look for this spring:

  • European cuts: Unlike the boxy shape of American blazers, the European cut has a sharper shoulder, narrower arm and nipped waist, making it an ideal fit for formal blazers.
  • Narrow lapels: For a slimmer, more modern fit, look for a suit with a narrow lapel. These lengthen the torso and add height; they also pair well with slimmer ties, which are back this season.
  • Side vents: Vents add functionality and ease of movement to the traditionally rigid structure of a blazer. While American blazers generally rely on a center vent, the European style of side vents covers more while bending or sitting, thus keeping a more crisp appearance.

Why Juno is so mature when she just a teenager? That’s unusual!

I like her parents. They’re so supportive and kind.

I, XY. Formally launching XY movie forum online on March 10th, 2oo8.

Welcome to join the forum. XY movie forum only has one purpose- we only talk about movies. Technically, you read what I wrote about movies, then you can leave your comments. there won’t be live talking.

Okay, let’s talk.

“No country for old men”

Q1, when Anton Chigurh found Llewelyn’s home, he went inside to search, and he sat down, drank some milk. Why did he choose milk to drink? why not water, alcohol, or leftovers to eat?

Q 2, did Chigurh kill Llewelyn’s wife in the end?

Q3, when Sheriff and Chigurh were in a same motel room, Chigurh was hiding in the bathroom, why didn’t Chigurh kill Sheriff if Chigurh almost kills everyone?

Q4, did mexican killers take all the money?

“There will be blood”

When Daniel and Eli were at bowling room in Daniel’s huge house, Daniel was drinking a bottle of transparent liquid, was it water or vodka?

How come Daniel’s housekeeper was so calm when he saw a dead body next to Daniel in the bowling room, not a little shock?

Where did Paul go? Where is his oil company located?

Also, I don’t understand why some people say they couldn’t understand what the movie was talking about.

“I want to believe”- Cai Guoqiang

“I want to believe”-Cai Guoqiang

“I want to believe”- Cai Guoqiang, Chinese artist.

I guaranteed that Cai’s exhibition is one of the most stirring exhibitions in Guggenheim museum. Although, I found some of his artworks aren’t environmental friendly, such as gunpowder, fireworks. Cai went to many countries to show people how gunpowder could make powerful smoke with designed shapes, the visual sense is very fascinating, magical, earth-shaking. Well done, Cai! Here comes my question, all the black smoke made by gunpowder disappeared into the sky, into our air, oxygen, and all the explosive wreckage blew everywhere in a city/town/countryside, don’t you think that actually is a damage to our environment? I’d be very indignant if I were a cleaning worker who had to clean up all the mess that Cai’s artwork made. I also think Cai is a hard core, why he likes explode? does he try to vent by explosive? yet, he showed me some other parts of him, worried, concerned, kindhearted. His sculpture. Many of them reminds me the characters from my chinese text book in primary school, I felt so cordial. There are so many interaction between Cai’s sculptures and audience, it’s the most lively artwork in museum.

I feel regret that I didn’t organize a movie group when I was living in China

After we watched ‘no country for old men’, I had so many questions to discuss with Rindy, but he couldn’t answer all my questions. If there were a movie group, I believe it could solve many problems of mine.

But movies are expenisve here ( movie theather, dvd, tape). It’s not easy to watch so many everyday. In China, I could watch 10 dvds a day for $10, becasue we have illegal copies, even professional film makers are using them.

So how come I didn’t organize a movie group when all my friends and I were watching hundreds of moive every week? None of us ever thought about it. Maybe everyone knows every group will end up gossiping……

Oh well, I’d love to join one movie group, because I need answers!!
